Can DFS determine who authored, saved, accessed or printed a digital document?
In many cases DFS can determine the probable author of an electronic document by examining the metadata of a file.
DFS may be able to determine the user that printed a paper document, discovering encoded data in the printed document or from the documents metadata. This data can provide information such as the serial number of the printer, device, user and the date and time of the printout. This information may be sufficient to determine the individual responsible for the printed information.
