Mobile Device Analysis
Mobile Devices, including PDA’s, iPod’s, mobile phones to include iPhones and other smartphones, including the SIM cards therein can hold a tremendous amount of information. Furthermore, these devices are portable, many with features that only desktop computer systems could provide in the not so distant past. These devices are powerful, mini-computers and should be analyzed when possible.
Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) is a card that is used within some cellular phones and can yield some or all of the following information: What calls have been made and received from the mobile device to include the number dialed with the corresponding date and time, data stored within address books, details regarding SMS messaging, photograph and video data stored on the card.
These mobile devices are commonly used by professionals everywhere and can be the “missing link” when concerned about electronic evidence.
DFS can conduct a full analysis† of these devices in a manner that falls within best practices.
